If you spend enough time around bass fishing, Sam Rayburn is a lake you hear about your whole life. People come here because of what this lake has built over decades. When you have that many boaters on the water, from tournament competitors to families spending the weekend, having dependable help available is everything. That’s what drew me to TowBoatUS and why I’m proud to invest my time serving this community.

While you wait: anchor if you are drifting, put life jackets on everyone aboard, and note your GPS position or the nearest landmark so the captain can come straight to you.

My boat is stuck on a sandbar at Sam Rayburn. Who can get me off?
If your boat is stuck on a sandbar at Sam Rayburn Reservoir, call TowBoatUS Sam Rayburn on (409) 332-5844 and a captain will come and look at it. A soft ungrounding is a boat sitting upright and undamaged, still surrounded by water, that one boat with one line can free in about fifteen minutes — that is towing work, and a membership covers it.
Salvage is a different job: a boat that is holed, heeled over, sitting on rock or timber, or high and dry. Salvage is billed differently and is normally paid by boat insurance. The captain tells you which one you have before a line goes on the boat.
While you wait, keep life jackets on and note your GPS position or the nearest landmark.
My boat sank at Sam Rayburn. Who does recovery?
TowBoatUS Sam Rayburn handles sunken and swamped boat recovery on Sam Rayburn Reservoir, on (409) 332-5844. People first: everyone off the boat and into life jackets, count heads, then note the GPS position or the nearest landmark.
If the boat is going down at a dock, shut off the shore power before anyone goes near the water. Recovering a sunken boat is salvage rather than towing, so it is billed differently and is normally paid by boat insurance.
